R2 has got pants on - FINALLY!

At last R2 is not naked from the bottom down like that perverted duck... It has been a LONG wait due to Jerry taking a brake from the parts-circus when his wife was ill. Luckily she is doing better as far as I know and Jerry has resumed offering us these magnificent pieces of aluminium. You are a STAR mate - thanks yet another piece of the puzzle!

Shoulder hydraulics and buttons arrive!

Dome bearing alternatives

I'm still searching for an alternative to the utterly crappy rockler bearings. Here is a possible solution:

Assembling my Teeces v3 lighting system

So far, si good!! Now I just need to solder up the PSIs and Holo LEDs and start to troubleshoot the code and wires...

This fabulous piece of kit arrived from BobC today. I'm a lazy git and not too comfortable with the soldering iron (yet, I hope), so I got the assembled version.

Center ankle arrives!

With the ankle finally here it was time for R2 to get his feet on and stand on his own three legs. An easy fix - at least so I thought... Mounting that center foot was a PAIN!! Luckily I have tiny hands!

Periscope

Today I received and assembled the periscope and riser. The attention to detail is fantastic!! No instructions with the parts, but a look at som reference photos and a second look at the parts made it close to impossible to go wrong.

Legs are back on!

Looking good! Can't wait til the feet and center ankle arrive from Jerry...

A little side project!

While waiting for more droidparts to arrive I thought I'd start on the Sandtroopers pride and joy - the T21 BFG. I'm copying most of Pandatrooper's build found over at mepd.net, but plan to use a fuel line for the ribbed section and a copper brake line for the smaller tube bit (from ribbed section to sight).

Last addition to this rapidly growing pile of awesome: DD dome accessory lifter, Bob's FANTASTIC milled aluminium Holoprojectors and bronze braided hose from Mike V - all arrived the same day :D
